Madison Berardi searched for her passion for a long time as a child, from swimming, to gymnastics, to playing guitar. Madison soon realized the wonderful world of dancing as she started with BOUNCE Productions, where she had the opportunity to take part in several musical theatre productions involving dancing, singing and acting. She soon joined the competitive dancing troupe at International Dance Academy, where she focused on hip hop, also while training in ballet, jazz, and contemporary.
Madison competed in many competitions throughout this time, such as Dance America, Masquerade, and local competitions. She also took part in several shows including BOUNCE Productions’ Tale as Old as Time, Appluaze Productions’ Across the Universe, and St. Ignatius’ 2011 production of Hairspray, as a dancer.
It didn’t take long for Madison to realize that she wanted to play a bigger role in the studio and so she began to volunteer in hip hop classes as an assistant teacher. Once she became an eligible age, she began to teach both recreational and competitive hip hop at IDA, where she encouraged and grew with her dancers for four years.
Madison took a year off from teaching recently as she focused on school at Lakehead University, where she also strives to one day become a teacher. During this year she has had the opportunity to take part in two of Army of Sass Thunder Bay’s Productions including 90’s, and Divas.
Madison now has the wonderful opportunity to teach hip hop for Dream Dance Company and to continue to share her love for dance with others.
