Abby began dancing at the age of 3 starting in ballet. From that point on, she fell in love with dancing. She joined Dream Dance Company at the age of 6 wanting to pursue dance competitively. Through the years, Abby has trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, modern, acro, contemporary, and hip hop and has competed at multiple out of town competitions including Hall of Fame, Starpower, Celebration Talent, and Showstopper. Most recently, Abby completed the Intermediate Cecchetti ballet examination.
Abby’s love for dance introduced her into doing duets, trios as well as solos starting at age 7 in many disciplines including jazz, acro, lyrical, pointe, and her favourite, ballet. In her solos she has received many overall placings, platinum and elite scores, special awards from the judges as well as multiple first-place scholarships for her solos and duets. Abby’s most rewarding awards include 1st runner-up for the Junior Bowl at the Lakehead Music Festival of Arts (2013), winning the Fort William Rotary Club Ballet Plate for her demi-pointe solo (2014), receiving the All-Around Senior Bowl at the Lakehead Music Festival (2016), and being a finalist for the Fort William Ballet Tray (2017).
Abby has attended numerous workshops, summer intensives and drop-in classes both in Canada and the United States. In 2016, Abby auditioned for the Quinte Ballet School of Canada summer program and was accepted. Abby attended the 3-week summer intensive where she stayed in residence and trained with many skilled instructors in various styles of dance, focusing on ballet. After the 3-week summer audition, Abby was accepted to stay for the full-time professional training program starting that fall. Abby cannot wait to continue to teach at Dream Dance Company and share her passion with her students.
