Jennifer Villeneuve

Jennifer’s love of dance was evident at a very young age.   She began formal classes at the age of three at International Dance Academy under the guidance of Laura Pascolo McRury.

Jennifer has taken Cecchetti Ballet exams along with ADAPT Jazz and Tap exams and she has studied classes in demi point, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, character, musical theatre, hip hop, acro and contemporary.  Jennifer has been dancing competitively since the age of seven when she qualified for and attended the Dance America National Finals in New York City after winning first place for her jazz solo, and first place and best presentation for her ballet duet at the Dance America Regionals.  Since then she has competed in the Dance America National Finals twice in both Florida and Chicago and won Junior National ballet titles for her Demi pointe and pointe routines three times.  She has been selected yearly to compete as a finalist for the Dance America Dancer of the Year (DOTY) and one of her proudest moments came when she was awarded the Primary/ Junior Most Promising Dancer of the Year at Nationals in Orlando Florida.  Jennifer has also been honoured with numerous special awards and scholarships at many dance competitions within Canada and the United States such as Best Emotional Execution, Best Presentation (twice), Best Costuming, fourth highest scoring solo at Dance America Regionals and first place scholarships for many solos and duets.  She was also honoured with a Gold medal of merit for highest achievement and grades on her jazz exam.  Most recently Jenn had the sixth overall highest teen solo for her Demi Pointe routine and fourth highest overall mark for her Demi pointe teen duet at Masquerade Dance competition in Duluth.  She has also been honoured to perform twice with the Jorgen Ballet and once with Minnesota Ballet at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium.   Throughout the years Jenn has continued to enhance her technique through many workshops, drop in classes and private lessons not only in Canada but in the United States as well.  This summer she was thrilled to be selected to attend the three week second audition phase at Quinte Ballet School and was further honoured with her acceptance into their full time professional ballet school.  Jennifer’s passion for dance and young children have been evident as she has been assisting countless classes over the last five years.  She can’t wait to share her love of dance with her students this year at Dream Dance.
